Sunspot 3664 Zoomed In
Description
This is a digitally zoomed in image of the massive sunspot region 3664 on Saturday, May 11, 2024. This sunspot region was responsible for the aurorae visible all across the USA on Friday night/Saturday morning. Unfortunately, it was cloudy where I was, so I did not get any photographs of the aurora itself, but I managed to snag this shot of the sunspot culprit during a break in the clouds. The sun was shot using Baader AstroSolar Film in white light. However, I slightly adjusted the color to make the sun appear more orange, as we are accustomed to seing in photographs. Other minor adjustments were made to further sharpen the sunspot's details, such as texture and clarity.
