Eclipse
Complete Timelapse of Eclipse Phases
Description
This is a timelapse of 330 images of all phases of the total solar eclipse on 8 April 2024. During the partial phases, an image was taken every 45 seconds, and they were all manually aligned and rotated by me afterwards. During the total phases, the images were taken much closer together, within a few seconds of each other. The sun is oriented so that the observer's zenith is facing upwards, not solar north. This makes the timelapse look like what observers on the ground saw. The sun was shot using Baader AstroSolar Film in white light. However, I slightly adjusted the color to make the sun appear more orange, as we are accustomed to seing in photographs.
